Several students from PASS, KYGM, and Model Teen of Paññāsāstra University of Cambodia ran a campaign in cooperation with the National Blood Transfusion Center and the University of Nagasaki on the topic of your blood is my hope. The campaign was held over three days at PUC’s Main campus, West campus, Tuol Kork campus and South campus.

Mr. Hour Tola, president of Paññāsāstra Student Senate, stated that the purpose of the campaign is to raise the awareness of Cambodia’s youth to the need for blood donations.  The campaign also helps to build assistance networks and a culture of help in Cambodia society.

It was noted that blood donation drives have been held several times by PUC students. This time is similar to the previous ones. There were 97 blood donators over a two day period starting from December 15, 2014. The donations came from students, teachers, staff and faculty members. The campaign is expected to exceed more than a hundred donators.

Sitting at a table and about to eat a serving bread and milk, Ms. Song Keopisey, in her first year in TESOL at PUC, said, “I felt neither nervous nor tired. Helping someone’s life is my pleasure.”

According to Doctor Ket Vansit, deputy head of National Blood Transfusion Center, PUC is one of the important universities in Cambodia which the center works closely with. PUC often runs campaigns to help society. He hopes that in the future there will be more and more people deciding to donate blood because Blood is life.
